Controversy

On October 25th, 2011, The Daily Cartoonist released an article announcing that Urban Tulsa cartoonist David Simpson had been accused of plagiarizing the work of Jeff MacNelly.[4]

Subsequent investigations by Poynter revealed another cartoon in which Simpson had plagiarized MacNelly's work.[5]

Further investigation on the part of This Land Press revealed that Simpson had plagiarized other works in at least five other instances, making this one of the biggest cartoon plagiarism scandals of all-time.[6]
